STATEMENT OF RICHARD H. DAVIS ANNOUNCING HIS CANDIDACY FOR UNITED STATES CONGRESS
RICHARD HARRISON DAVIS, JR.
Republican Congressional candidate Richard H. Davis (CA-18) today announced his candidacy for United States Congress for California’s 18th District: I am excited and proud to throw my hat in the ring and officially announce my candidacy for United States Congress. I look forward to representing everyone in California’s 18th District fairly. I will run a positive campaign, one in which I will display integrity and honesty in all my interactions and treat all that I encounter with the utmost respect. I’m not a Member of Congress but a candidate and a former student at Stanford University, officially Leland Stanford Junior University, a private research university located here in Palo Alto. Stanford was founded in 1885 by Leland and Jane Stanford in memory of their only child, Leland Stanford Jr., who had died of typhoid fever at age 15 the previous year. My mission is to teach other people to be law-abiding.
I don’t expect to have much of a chance at winning the 2022 race for Congress. Running as a Republican, I am challenging the very popular incumbent, Rep. Anna G. Eshoo (D-Calif.). So, despite the long shot, I will be signing the Code of Fair Campaign Practices and will be running as a write-in candidate for the United States Congress. I value your input, welcome your opinion and encourage you to contact me if I can be of assistance to you or your family at any time. I respectfully ask for your vote so I can work on your behalf.
I look forward to your vote, and remain, Yours faithfully, Signed: Richard H. Davis.
